Kimi Raikkonen
believes Magny-Cours is the “perfect” track for Ferrari’s F2008.

“Now we're heading back to Europe to tracks, which have been built to be used by racing cars. I think that things will look really different at Magny-Cours, compared to the last GPs. The smooth surface of the French track, its demanding corners and the quick changes of direction will underline the characteristics of the F2008.

It was here in France last year that my season practically started all over again; and this is what I need now, after the two races with no points. I like this track and I think that it's perfect for our car. I think we'll be competitive and that we can go for the maximum result.”

Bob Bell is confident that Renault can deliver. "I think there is obviously a degree of frustration that we haven´t been able to convert our competitiveness into points. But in the meantime, we take heart from the fact that the car seems competitive, we have a great driver in Fernando (Alonso), and we just need to keep our focus and continue putting the developments on the car. The worst thing we can do is get spooked by it and start losing our attention to detail and commitment.

We’ll keep our heads down and things will come right for us. The car seems so be performing well on most circuits and that just reiterates that we’ve got a very strong platform now to go forward for the rest of the season. We’re under no illusion that we’re going to have to work very hard to keep that level of competitiveness up, but we have an aggressive development programme for the rest of the season, and we are confident that we have an adaptable baseline to work from.”

Felipe Massa expects Ferrari to face much fiercer competition from McLaren and BMW this weekend at Mangy-Cours. “In recent years, people would say that Canada and Monaco suited McLaren better than Ferrari, while it was the other way round in France and Britain. But I don’t think that is really the case this year, as apart from any other factors, we have to consider the BMW team in this equation. This year in Monaco, Ferrari had the whole front row of the grid even though I think we had more fuel than McLaren and in Canada our race pace was very good too. In other races we have all been very close.

I hope we will be very competitive this weekend. I like Magny-Cours: I came second here last year having started from pole, but then lost a bit of time in traffic. It’s a good track for me. Let’s hope we can repeat last year’s one-two finish, but maybe in a different order!”

"Driver of the day" - Jarno Trulli
Great defence against Heikki Kovalainen in the closing stages

Well done Felipe Massa for driving a faultless race and let us see if the Brazilian can win the Championship
Michael Schumacher said that he should not be ruled out earlier in the season

Are the British Press getting at Lewis Hamilton? Made a mistake here today overtaking Vettel shortcutting the chicane and given a drive through 10 second pentalty. He could have been given a 10 place drop on the grid for the British GP in 2 weeks?

Poor Kimi, had the race covered and then as he was going so fast the exhaust couldn't cool down so broke off (obviously!) =)
